Topes de Collantes is surrounded of mountains and beautiful landscapes that allow to be sighted in all their magnitude because the elevation is about 800 meters over the sea level. And consequently, here exists a healthy and pure atmosphere which is missed by people affected by high levels of pollution imposed by the modern life, the stress and the anxiety.
As part of the mountainous area of the Escambray, this place becomes point of reference in the central region of Cuba with
110 km2; it constitutes the natural reserve of numerous endemic species of the national flora and the fauna. Here the tourism of health is developed, where the Kurhotel Escambray constitutes its center and with an infrastructure that includes acclimatized pool, steam baths, sauna and gym. Topes de Collantes is located 77 kilometers from Santa Clara's city, where the ashes of Commandant Ernesto Che Guevara rest. Only 80 kilometers separate it from Cienfuegos, county of strong industrial development and well-known as the Pearl of the South and it is 350 kilometers from Havana.
